We are the “Union of Workers in the Production, Cultivation, Standardization and Packaging of Food and Beverages of Western Achaia – Andravida – Kyllini“.
Our union unites all workers employed in the Production, Cultivation, Standardization and Packaging of Food and Beverages in the region of Western Achaia – Andravida – Kyllini.
Members of our union can become:
All those who work in businesses of all kinds, factories, packaging plants, greenhouses or individual employers involved in the production, cultivation, standardization and packaging of food and beverages, agricultural and livestock products in the region of Western Achaia – Andravida – Kyllini. Also, all land workers employed in the cultivation of agricultural products, grains and animal feed in the above areas can become members of the union.
All employees in the above areas, regardless of age, gender, religion and nationality and regardless of their specialty, level of education, specialization, with any employment relationship (fixed or indefinite term, part-time or full-time, intermittent or rotating employment, hourly wages, etc.), as well as all employees who contract with the company with a fictitious relationship, which however conceals a dependent employment contract.
The purpose of our Union is:
The securing, promotion, expansion and defense by every appropriate means of the labor, economic, professional, social, insurance and trade union interests of the members of the union.
The coordination of its members to solve their problems and to improve their working and living conditions.
The care for the observance and expansion of health and safety measures at work.
The raising of the educational, spiritual and cultural level of the members and their professional education. The protection and expansion of their political, trade union and democratic freedoms.
The cultivation and development of a spirit and bonds of militant solidarity and comradeship among the members of the union.
The solidarity and combination of its struggles and efforts with other worker union organizations and the workers and employees of all of Greece and the whole world for the defense of their rights and just demands, for the defense of their conquests, for the active participation in the struggles that promote the common interests of the working class and all workers in general.
The basic principles of the union are the militant class unity of all workers and their trade union movement, its independence from the state and employers, but also its economic autonomy and self-reliance.
WE DEMAND
-Minimum sectoral wage of 940 euros for 2025
-work 5 days per week – 8hours per day
– Determination of specializations and specilization allowances.
– Reinstatement of all three-year periods of the period 2012-2024
– Marriage and child allowance. Increases in all allowances.
– Health & Safety measures in the workplace, so that we do not mourn killed and disabled workers.
– To abolish the anti-labor laws that were passed in the years of the memoranda until today.
– No to the arrangement of working time, to exhausting schedules.
– Unemployment allowance at 80% of the minimum wage for all unemployed.
– Measures against accuracy and for the protection of workers’ and people’s income.
– Exclusively public and free, upgraded education.
– A unified exclusively public and free Health – Welfare system, for all. The health structures of the region (Pyrgos and Amaliada hospitals, Kato Achaia Health Center) should be staffed with all the necessary permanent personnel, to cover the needs of all residents and workers, Greeks and immigrants.
For migrant farm workers, we demand, under the responsibility of the state, the government, the embassies and the employers:
-To ensure the necessary living conditions that allow for proper personal hygiene (clean water, toilets, housing, clothing, etc.)
-To ensure in every way the free access of all migrant workers to preventive examinations and medical check-ups, their free access to all health units in the region. Under the responsibility of the 6th Ministry of Health and the government, the issue of the non-issuance of AMKA to thousands of migrants should be resolved, as well as the reissuance of AMKA to those whose papers have been destroyed.- To send a mobile health unit under the responsibility of the 6th Ministry of Health which will undertake the preventive control of migrant workers. Preventive blood tests should be performed and those who need them should be guaranteed access to specialist doctors such as cardiologists, diabetologists, and orthopedic surgeons.
-Ensure that they have free access to their medication prescriptions and supplies, as well as to the special equipment they need to take them. For example, we examined an immigrant with diabetes who had stopped taking the insulin he was supposed to take, as he did not have a refrigerator to store it.
-Under the responsibility of the National Health Organization, using its mobile units, everyone should be vaccinated with the necessary vaccines for their age, while also taking into account the special health conditions in which they live (tetanus, hepatitis, etc.).
– Take measures to prevent endemic diseases such as tuberculosis.
– Build a fully equipped and staffed Multi-Purpose Regional Clinic for all residents of the area.
The sectoral CBA determines
• the minimum wage for all employees in the sector
• allowances such as marriage, three-year, diplomas, etc.
• the registration of specialties with a higher salary than the minimum
• leaves, working hours, breaks and protective measures
• sets a minimum negotiation threshold for business contracts
• enables employees to make and claim demands based on their real needs

-Disengagement of our country from the imperialist plans and wars organized by the USA – NATO – EU. Greece out of the slaughterhouses of wars. To close the bases of death in Andravida and Araxos.
-To stop the massacre of the Palestinian people by the murderous state of Israel. Freedom in Palestine.
